Costa de La Luz Holidays - Travel Guide

Family Friendly holidays - Costa de La Luz Hotels & Apartments only - Holidays for Larger family's

The Costa de la Luz (Coast of light) is the western part of the Andalucia coastline that faces out to the Atlantic. The sand is finer and a more golden colour than the neighbouring Costa del Sol. The typical beaches here are more expansive and probably backed by sand dunes and pine trees. This part of the coast has not seen the high-rise hotel development of other areas. The temperatures are slightly milder and the often strong Atlantic winds and waves are favoured by wind surfers and surfboarders alike. With its rolling olive fields, picturesque villages and rugged sandy coves, the Costa de la Luz is a stunning spot for leaving the world behind. With some of the most idyllic beaches in the province, it’s a paradise for windsurfers and sun worshippers alike. However, the Costa de La Luz isn't aimed at the family market. Although the beaches are some of the best in Spain there are (at time of writing) no waterparks, theme parks or the usual attractions to keep the kids happy.

Things to see and do in Costa de La Luz

As stated in our opening chapter apart from the beach and hotel based entertainment there's little else for children to do. Watersports are a joy due to the warm, crystal clear waters. Snorkeling and diving are very popular.
