 The Costa del Sol (Sun Coast) is a well-developed tourist area extending along the entire Mediterranean coast of Andalucia, the southernmost province of Spain. Covering over 100 miles, the Costa del Sol includes 24 fine sandy beaches, where the average water temperature is 64ºF (18ºC), and picturesque towns have abundant tourist amenities, resorts and high-rise hotels. Several large resorts, such has Torremolinos, Malaga and Marbella are dotted along the coastline with a backdrop of mountains along most of its length. The most popular resort town on the Costa del Sol is Torremolinos, which retains some elements of traditional Spain, although most main streets are now pedestrianised-thoroughfares filled with souvenir shops and ice-cream parlours.

Things to do in the Costa del Sol |
Tivoli World Amusement Park Just 2 miles north of Benalmadena Costa the park can be reached by local bus, the coastal train or by car. Open all through the summer but restricted hours during winter, so please click on the link to see. The amusement park offers both rides and shows including Flamenco and Wild West shows. Younger children are also catered for in the area of the park called Tivolandia. |

Aqualand Torremolinos Aqualand is located only 10 minutes from the centre of Torremolinos. Aqualand is a place where you can spend a day having lots of fun with the best aquatic attractions one can ever imagine. Also, this year the park offers a new attraction: the “Boomerang”, plus relaxing green areas and 18-hole mini golf course. The Kamikaze, the classic and most exciting attraction. It’s one of those experiences that you never forget because you’ll never have felt more alive. |

SELWO MARINA is a leisure offer which complements its brother, SELWO AVENTURA. The main theme of SELWO MARINA is South America, where the landscapes and marine wildlife of the continent is recreated.  Benalmadena Cable Car The cable car system at Benalmadena which opened in 2003 is fast becoming one of the Costa's main tourist attractions. The car (called a Telecabina) which can carry up to 4 people, takes you 15-minutes to reach the highest point on the Málaga coast at an altitude of almost 800m above sea level. From this advantage point, you not only have the most magnificent views of the Costa del Sol, but also the awesome panoramic vistas of the Sierra Nevada mountains and on a clear day you can see Gibraltar and the north coast of Africa. You can purchase a one-way ticket and walk back down but this is only recommended for the fit and isn't suitable for families with young children. Tip! If you plan to visit the Selwo Adventure & Marina parks then purchase all your tickets at the same time as this will save you money.

Benalmadena Sea Life Aquarium is located next to the Marina in Benalmadena and can be reached by bus from any of the resorts along the coast. Visitors will be able to see a shark reef, a tank with rays, a sea snake enclosure and various other displays. The centre is open all year from 10am. |

Other things to do in the area. There's the Natura Aventura adventure park in San Pedro de la Alantara, 3 miles from Marbella which has everything from rock climbing to paintball. Fuengirola Zoo can be found in the centre, the Torremolinos Crocodile Park is located next to Aqualand (hope they don't escape) or there's the El Ranchito Equestrian Show, dinner and Flamenco also in Torremolinos with a show every Wednesday. |
