Cuba
is a
fascinating
destination
which
offers
some of
the best
beaches
in the
Caribbean.
Havana
is its
capital
and is
an
experience
not to
be
missed
with its
impressive
architecture,
boasting
Spanish
colonial
buildings
and
grand
plazas,
where
classic
automobiles
are
fascinating
to
watch,
and the
hip-swaying
sounds
of salsa
music
fill the
air. The
locals
are very
pleasant
and
appreciate
tourist
who have
helped
to keep
the
country
going
since
the
introduction
of US
sanctions
in the
1950’s.
If you
are
seeking
more
modern
surroundings
then
Varadero
with its
12 miles
of white
sand
beach
should
suit as
will a
holiday
staying
in
either
the
Cayos or
Holguin
province
which is
becoming
a big
favourite
with
holidaymakers
but
flights
from the
UK to
these
smaller
airports
are
limited.
With
talk of
the USA
possibly
lifting
some of
the
sanctions
Cuba
will
change
and
become a
mirror
of its
nearby
Caribbean
neighbours
so if
you
really
want to
see the
real
Fidel
Castro’s
Cuba
then
time is
running
out.
