 The Ionian island of Zante (also called Zakynthos) has been colourfully billed as 'the green island of poetry, song and love', mainly because it was the home of Dionysios Solomos, who wrote the Greek national anthem, 'The Hymn to Liberty'. Arriving in Zante by ferry is certainly a poetic experience. The picturesque town curves around a bay dominated by a Venetian Fortress and the St Dennis Cathedral. Zante town is reminiscent of Venice with its historic St Mark's Square and Solomos Square, lined by reconstructed neoclassical buildings. Tourism has become the main income earner for this popular resort island but the rapid development of infrastructure in recent years has not depleted its traditional charm. Zante remains pleasantly poetic and a great destination for family holidays. |

Things to do in Zante for families |
 Luna fun park: Located in Tsilivi this fun park has everything to keep both adults, and children entertained. The kids can explore the fun park with it's bouncy castles and bumper boats. For all ages the bungee running is a great way to get ride of that extra energy. With fairground stalls like tin can shooting and monkey madness, air hockey for starters & inflatable slides or try and ride the rodeo bull, the only one in Zante. If your children make you want to climb the wall then direct them to the climbing tower, if they're not scared of heights. There is also the laser arena, which is outdoors and packed full of authentic military equipment giving all the family, the ultimate illusion and feel of a real war game. For the adults there is also the course with the paintball guns which is excellent fun. A great day out can be had for both big kids and little kids.

Fantasy Mini Golf - Tsilivi & Argasi: Why not spend a day or night enjoying a few games of fantasy golf on either of these beautifully designed courses. Each are located on 4 acres, beautifully landscaped with gardens, ponds, rivers, waterfalls and fountains. With easier and more difficult courses, the aim is to provide a challenge for all ages, while still being fun for the whole family. Both courses have cafes overlooking the golf courses, and it's an excellent place to relax on a hot summer's day or evening, to have a drink and something to eat whilst watching sport on one of the big-screen TV's or just leave your kids to enjoy our play areas with bouncy castles which are free of charge, you only pay to play the course. |
